Reauthorizing CISA 2015 Would Safeguard America’s Defenses Against Evolving Cyber Threats

Cyber threats evolve rapidly, and America’s defenses must keep pace. For the past decade, the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA 2015) has provided the legal protections and certainty businesses need to quickly share cyber threat information with the federal government and one another.

America can’t afford to let those protections disappear, which is why Business Roundtable is urging Congress to act before CISA 2015 expires at the end of September.

Reauthorization of CISA 2015 would:

• Preserve the legal protections that give organizations confidence to share cyber threat information.
• Help identify threats sooner and respond faster through timely information sharing between businesses and government.
• Protect America’s critical infrastructure against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
• Provide businesses with the certainty they need to respond to evolving cyber threats.

If CISA 2015 lapses, America would lose these critical information-sharing protections, weakening the nation’s ability to respond when speed matters most.
