Bipartisan Permitting Reform Would Help America Build Faster

For much of the country, spring signals the start of construction season, when work begins on new infrastructure projects.

Across America, there are over 650 major infrastructure projects stalled in the federal permitting queue. Modernizing the permitting process would speed project timelines, unlock domestic investment and help America build, compete and grow.

A more efficient, predictable and durable permitting process would:

  • Unlock $1.5 trillion in potential investment held back by permitting delays.
  • Accelerate $1.7–2.4 trillion in GDP growth.
  • Support millions of good-paying American jobs across sectors nationwide.
  • Power the equivalent of 38 million to 54 million homes.
  • Strengthen U.S. leadership in energy, technology and manufacturing.

Congress and the Administration have taken meaningful steps to improve the federal permitting process, but more can be done to advance durable bipartisan permitting reform.
